WHO WE ARE, WHAT WE ARE, WHAT WE DO

Qoki ZiNdlovukazi Community Organisation is a member-driven women’s organisation that utilises the power of Social Media to address challenges faced by members and their communities in the diaspora and country of origin.

We aim to respond to the various challenges that we face as women, ranging from economic disadvantages and various social issues. We are driven by Ubuntu, which is a philosophy that grounds us in the fact that we are *who we are* because of our collective function and effort.

Our main objective as a group is to encourage and empower each other to raise funds, which then facilitate our identified projects. Thus far we have set up a few projects to help empower us as women.

Most importantly, we are rising to the challenge implementing projects that will allow us to support identified hospitals in Zimbabwe. While this is in the infancy stages, we have managed to donate blankets to 13 hospitals. We have also set up a relief fund that enabled us to assist during the relief efforts after the severe storms in the Matabeleland region and have set up appeals for individuals in distress.

The cliché statement that charity begins at home resonates with the group, hence we are taking it upon ourselves to ensure that we raise funds on a regular basis in order to achieve our goal of helping our families in Zimbabwe.

Within two years of formation, Qoki ZiNdlovukazi Community Organisation has won the Community Organisation of the Year *Award* at the prestigious Zimbabwe Achievers Awards. In 2017 Qoki was nominated for U.K National Diversity Awards in recognition of charitable activities. Although it is a great privilege to be honoured and recognised by external agencies, our proudest achievement is to see lives changing for the better due to our collective efforts.

For us, this is just the beginning as we continue to work hard to impact lives and communities in the U.K and Zimbabwe.
